Internet of Things with Pmods

Recently, Andrew Back of DesignSpark published a series of posts that looked at the designs/builds of a set of demonstrators for the Electronica trade fair and conference.

The demonstrations are intended to show how blockchain technology can be used to create a secure, decentralized data platform and more for the Internet of Things. RS IoT Blockchain Demonstrators is the third installment in the series, and it highlights some creative designs as well as Digilent Pmods in action!

Many of the demo units make use of Pmod modules interfaced via the DesignSpark Pmod HAT adapter (for use with Raspberry Pi). We have listed some examples below:

  • Pmod AD1 with resistor divider to measure voltage across conveyor motor terminals.
  • Pmod OLEDrgb used to indicate status of run, stop or failure.
  • Pmod TC1 and thermocouple probe indicates temperature.
  • Pmod LVLSHFT logical level shifter used in the LeakKiller Challenge.

“The DesignSpark Pmod HAT adapter made it easy to integrate incredibly useful Pmods which added small OLED displays, ADC input and temperature measurement to the Raspberry Pi, along with level shifted output for driving the Dotstar addressable LEDs.”

  1. The internet of things is really a very important thing in our daily life because of it will surely show something in the future and if you really want using it then you should know about the use of it. You may sometimes face chrome keeps crashing which can be easily fixed.

  2. Thanks for sharing this blog with us.
In a simple way to put it, you have “things” that sense and collect data and send it to the internet.
This data can be accessible by other “things” too

  3. Learning about the internet of business (IoT) will impact the future of the industry sector and helps people grow there business. these steps are very useful for all and everyone must read these steps.
