Communication styles will vary based on the Pmod and accomplish different things when talking to the primary board being used. The different protocols discussed are below.
- Serial peripheral interface (SPI)
- Universal asynchronous receiver transmitter (UART)
- I2C
- General purpose input output(GPIO) — this is not necessary a communication protocol, but Pmods under this category feature a lot of inputs and outputs.
