Digilent Test and Measurement devices use female or male terminated MTE cables to provide a convenient method of probing circuits. When probing small circuits or integrated circuits a more secure connection may be desired. The mini-grabber test clips provide a grabber connection that can be added to the end of the MTE cables to connect to component leads, wires, and other circuit components.

The spring-action clips use two-lead pincers to grab onto conductors up to 1.27mm in diameter. When released, the pincers hold tightly for good electrical contact. The mini-grabber test clips ship in packs of six with a variety of colors. The connection between the MTE cable and grabber is direct which can reduce noise concern, but can be difficult if the MTE cable is not oriented correctly. The Mini-grabber test clips with leads (needs link) provide an easier connection via a pigtail.

Note: The signal wires must be inserted into the test clips with their metal contacts facing outwards. We are currently shipping a set of 3 black and 3 blue mini-grabbers, but will be replenishing with 6-color kits around mid-Nov.

  • Lightweight and durable construction
  • Two signal connection points for signal wires
  • Direct connection to female terminate MTE cable (no pigtail)
  • Able to grasp components up to 1.27mm in diameter
  • 6-pack Mini Grabber Test Clips

    not a .025" pin

Posted by Clint on 10th Mar 2022

These are actually pretty nice quality, but they don't have a .025" pin to mate directly with the flywires on AD2 etc. It's a rolled contact more suitable for holding a wire. If you take them apart and solder a little pigtail to the contact, they work fine.

    Terrible

I bought these to go with my Analog Discovery 2 - broke 2 wires so far. Instructions to face the contacts outwards should come with them. Even so, outwards could be interpreted differently. I've used others in the lab that didn't have to be oriented in a certain way and will seek out those.
