    You can't go wrong

Posted by dataguy on 25th Aug 2013

I've use MCCDAQ cards and USB devices over the years, and they do pretty well. The big thing is the documentation, examples, and technical support that you get with these products. Definitely will use it in future projects. The *one* drawback is the TracerDAQ software; it works, but it looks a bit long in the tooth; could use some upgrading. Looks like it was built with an old software tool.

Easy to use . . . once you have the right drivers

Posted by Doughboy on 15th Aug 2013

This thing worked great as soon as I got on to a computer that had the right drivers. On my primary computer I tried to just plug it in and trust that it would install the drivers by itself and work properly, but the drivers that Windows installed weren't specifically for the device. The mccdaq software I installed afterward (Instacal) didn't recognize it correctly afterward, and so the testing program I wanted to use it for couldn't create an instance of the device. I went the route of installing the drivers and software on another computer, then after doing that I plugged it in and it worked great.

Easy to use once the software installed properlly. The only concern is the labels of the wrie connectors are not easy to find.

    Great product and extremely affordable

Posted by SpursFan on 10th Aug 2013

Purchased this one for myself since I use the 1208FS and 1024LS at work. I'm impressed with their level of support for Labview and these things have never given me a hard time for automation. I highly recommend.

This device has a great feature set for such a low cost device. The I/O is plentiful and everything works as advertised. It's a solid performer.

Can do pretty much anything you want it to.

    Posted by bwest05dm on 5th Aug 2013

We have used these to retrofit older machines with new control systems. They are pretty easy to use, fast enough for what we need, and you can do anything you want with them. Universal Library with C# is well supported, and integrates seamlessly.

Nice, easy and a good price

Posted by MattMan on 3rd Aug 2013

We use this to automate testing our boards with analog and digital I/O. One drawback is the need for InstaCal to "register" the board number, but other than that all is working well.

This product provides sufficient functionality for research work

Posted by ohliumliu on 2nd Aug 2013

I used this product for quite a few years for graduate study, and it provides a sufficient alternative to more expensive brands. The driver that comes with the product provides easy setup guide. It can be integrated with LabView or Matlab.

Easy integration in a Microsoft Visual Studio application

    Posted by DG1947 on 1st Aug 2013

I used two USB-1208FS models in a test fixture to validate the operation of a Power Utility metering radio system, prior to encapsulation. The goal was to monitor battery current consumption during hibernation vs. active operation. The Universal Library that is provided with the unit is easy to use and the examples provide all of the detail needed to create a "rock-solid" data acquisition system.
