Emona Fiber Optics 

The Emona’s Fiber Optics board (FOTEx) board delivers a complete educational experience in fiber optics, designed specifically for the ADS Max platform. This single-board trainer allows students to conduct practical experiments on core optical communications topics, including pulse code modulation (PCM), time division multiplexing (TDM), bi-directional communications along a single fiber and wavelength division multiplexing (WDM).

Using Emona’s TIMS™ modelling approach, students interactively build up electrical and optical systems using electrical and optical patching leads to explore fiber optics fundamentals such as electrical-to-optical signal conversion, optical losses, polarization effects, and bending losses.

Emona Signals and Systems Board

The Emona Signals & Systems Board enables students to experience, learn-by-doing and implement critical concepts in Signals and Systems through hands-on laboratory experiments. Utilizing modular block-diagram design, the ESSB-30 facilitates comprehensive exploration of complex topics including Convolution, Correlation, Fourier analysis, implementing Continuous Time structures (Laplace) & Discrete-Time Structures (Z domain), Sampling, and Discrete FIR & IIR systems.

Its alignment with leading academic textbooks ensures that every significant concept in signals, systems, and circuit theory is supported by corresponding practical experiments. The intuitive LabVIEW-based graphical user interface further enhances learning by providing easy control and visibility of experimental outcomes.

As well, being an open-ended architecture allows professors to develop their own teaching materials using the elements provided by the board.

Emona’s Communications board (DxIQ-45G) enables students to practically build, test, and analyze real-world digital communication systems, bringing complex theoretical principles to life. This single-board solution consolidates multiple traditional training panels into a compact form factor making it ideal for in-depth hands-on laboratory-based exploration of coding, modulation, spread spectrum techniques, and signal recovery.

By using Emona’s proven block-diagram method, students patch experiments together step-by-step, fostering practical understanding and retention. The DxIQ-45G comes complete with essential accessories and detailed lab manuals that guide students through numerous experiments, ensuring thorough comprehension of modern telecommunications.

Students use a hands-on learning methodology to bring to life theoretical concepts with real world signals that relate directly to the theory. All inputs and output are physically and electrically robust and designed for everyday student use and all experiment are fully documented with step by step guidelines and outcomes. The included coursework covers most of an introductory 2 year EE & EEC laboratory program.
