This year, Punxsatawney Phil saw his shadow, portending six more weeks of winter.<\/p>\n<p>Well, at Digilent, we have Punxsutawney Sam the groundhog to tell us whether we&#8217;ll have more winter to look forward to. Sam the Groundhog!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Using\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/forum.digilent.com\/index.php?\/topic\/263-chipkit-cmod-pmodoled-for-light-sensitive-resistor\/\">light sensor circuit that Larissa demo&#8217;d<\/a> on the Digilent forum, we decided to let him check for his shadow that way!<\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"735\" height=\"413\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/raqOf36jfuQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>The first few seconds are groundhog-free, and the value shown on the PmodOLED stays in 200-400 range. But we&#8217;re all for new technology&#8211; what do you think? Does the rising value of the resistance indicated mean that we&#8217;ll have six more weeks of winter, or that we can look forward to spring soon?<\/p>\n<p>What other Groundhog Day projects could we do?
