{"id":27074,"date":"2019-07-31T14:06:58","date_gmt":"2019-07-31T21:06:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.digilentinc.com\/?p=27074"},"modified":"2021-06-09T12:53:51","modified_gmt":"2021-06-09T19:53:51","slug":"digilent-design-contest-2019-winning-project-profile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/digilent.com\/blog\/digilent-design-contest-2019-winning-project-profile\/","title":{"rendered":"Digilent Design Contest 2019- Winning Project Profile"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We saw a wealth of incredible projects this year at the 2019 Digilent Design Contest, and to add to the excitement, all of the <a href=\"https:\/\/digilentdesigncontest.com\/2019-europe\/?_ga=2.145604791.2000135839.1559586421-931369406.1490728676\">documentation for projects is online!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today we will be profiling the winning project, the <strong>Remote VHDL Prototyping and Testing Platform&nbsp;<\/strong>by Felix Georg Braun and Philipp-Sebastian Vogt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the winner&#8217;s page, &#8220;the outcome of this project is an easy to use platform for students to prototype and test their HDL design<br>on actual hardware over the internet. A web interface and a webcam provide (digital and visual) feedback to the user regarding the inputs and outputs of their design running on real hardware.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project required the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>a <a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/zybo-z7-zynq-7000-arm-fpga-soc-development-board\/\">Zybo Z7020<\/a><\/li><li>a micro SD card(min 16GB)<\/li><li>a Linux Computer<\/li><li>IP Cam<\/li><li>Petalinux 2017.4<\/li><li>Vivado 2017.4<\/li><li>Vivado Partial Reconfiguration Licence<\/li><li>Json-c Library<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The project&#8217;s creators were motivated to create an easy-to-use way for more people to learn VHDL, and improve lectures at Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/dd1-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27077\" srcset=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/dd1-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/digilent.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/dd1-600x399.jpg 600w, https:\/\/digilent.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/dd1-768x511.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p> The project creators, Felix Georg Braun and Philipp-Sebastian Vogt, hail from Technical University Vienna, Austria and were advised by Nima Taherinejad.  &nbsp;
