{"id":18859,"date":"2017-01-25T10:00:31","date_gmt":"2017-01-25T18:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.digilentinc.com\/?p=18859"},"modified":"2026-09-09T03:06:40","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T10:06:40","slug":"digilent-fritzing-parts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/digilent.com\/blog\/digilent-fritzing-parts\/","title":{"rendered":"Digilent Fritzing Parts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hello, everyone!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you&#8217;ve had a chance to look at our <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/forum.digilent.com\/forum\/25-learn\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Learn<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> site, you may have noticed that many of our images of breadboards feature a &#8220;Made in Fritzing&#8221; tag. So what exactly is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fritzing.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fritzing<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In their own words, &#8220;Fritzing is an open-source hardware initiative that makes electronics accessible as a creative material for anyone. [They] offer a software tool, a community website, and services in the spirit of processing, fostering a creative ecosystem that allows users to document their prototypes, teach electronics in a classroom, and lay out and manufacture professional PCBs.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At Digilent, we use Fritzing to present educational concepts. A lot of our Learn projects feature Fritzing. A number of our parts (with more being added regularly) are in Fritzing <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fritzing.org\/projects\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Projects<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (search for Digilent) and in the user-created parts <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/fritzing\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">repository<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. From designing circuits to demonstrating new concepts, we use Fritzing for showing people what we&#8217;re working on. We also use some Fritzing graphics in our inventories for our Learn projects. We would both like to see everyone learning how to use hardware and software to learn programming and to teach electronics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check back over the next few weeks to see a couple more posts featuring Fritzing, including a tutorial or two!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of our favorite parts about creating a project is that we get to create tutorials. But don&#8217;t worry, we will add that later on.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The best place to find the Fritzing parts we&#8217;ve created is on our Wiki, located on each product&#8217;s documentation page. So if we want the Fritzing Part for the Analog Discovery 2, we go to the Wiki, click on Analog Discovery 2, and find the Fritzing part link.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Specific to the Analog Discovery 2, we&#8217;ve added a<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.instructables.com\/id\/How-to-Create-Graphical-Images-With-the-Analog-Dis\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fritzing project<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that contains the part and all the wires.
