She used the following materials for her project:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hardware:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/digilent-pcb-ruler\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">PCB Ruler<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/labview-physical-computing-kit-for-beaglebone-black\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">BeagleBone Black<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/pmodmaxsonar-maxbotix-ultrasonic-range-finder\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">PmodMAXSONAR<\/a><\/li>\n<li>RGB LED (4)<\/li>\n<li>Soldering Iron<\/li>\n<li>Wire<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Software:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/labview-home-bundle\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">LabVIEW 2014<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.labviewmakerhub.com\/doku.php?id=libraries:linx:start\" rel=\"nofollow\">LINX 3.0<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Her inspiration for the project came from trying to circumvent the limits of the ruler itself, and measure things longer than the ruler&#8217;s physical 6 inches. She chose to use the PmodMAXSONAR to accomplish this goal.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The <a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/pmodmaxsonar-maxbotix-ultrasonic-range-finder\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">PmodMAXSONAR <\/a>is a ultrasonic range finder with effective detection range of ~6 in &#8211; 255 in. It&#8217;s capable of reading measurements three ways at once &#8211; through UART, analog and PWM.
