Today is the day we celebrate Embrace Your Geekness Day through hijinks and awesome projects that show just how grateful we are for all of\u00a0the geeky\u00a0gadgets that make our lives complete.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you&#8217;re rather fond of cosplay, or building boards from scratch, we welcome you to join us in expressing your true passions! While we may have started celebrating a week too early (we simply couldn&#8217;t resist), we hope our creative efforts of reinterpreting our favorite products help you see that there truly is no wrong way to celebrate this holiday. So jump outside your comfort zone and get inspired\u00a0as we count down the ways we&#8217;ve honored our engineering roots.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WaveForms Interpretive Dance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/vine.co\/v\/5WmDPHiTrUh\/embed\/simple\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><script src=\"https:\/\/platform.vine.co\/static\/scripts\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Our love for waveforms took on a new form\u00a0recently with our <a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/waveforms-2015-download-only\/\">WaveForms 2015<\/a> Interpretive Dance montage. We downloaded the software and used the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/blog\/try-out-waveforms-2015-with-demo-mode\/\">free WaveForms demo<\/a>\u00a0to fondly commemorate our favorite waves. This\u00a0inspiring session lead us to an interpretive dance that represented\u00a0each of our favorite waveforms, to the best of our ability. Who knew each of these boards had the potential for edible greatness? We loved the way our two 4-digit 7-segment <a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/nexys-4-ddr-artix-7-fpga-trainer-board-recommended-for-ece-curriculum\/\">Nexys 4 DDR<\/a> cookie turned out and had to be careful not to mistake the mighty <a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/analog-discovery-2-100msps-usb-oscilloscope-logic-analyzer-and-variable-power-supply\/\">Analog Discovery 2<\/a> cookie and its real life counterpart.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Getting Arty with the Arty Development Board<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-15413\" src=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/IMG_2274-e1468368253331-450x600.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2274\" width=\"450\" height=\"600\" data-wp-pid=\"15413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/IMG_2274-e1468368253331-450x600.jpg 450w, https:\/\/digilent.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/IMG_2274-e1468368253331-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/digilent.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/IMG_2274-e1468368253331-800x1067.jpg 800w, https:\/\/digilent.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/IMG_2274-e1468368253331.jpg 1512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As a throwback to childhood we then challenged ourselves\u00a0to draw the <a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/arty-board-artix-7-fpga-development-board-for-makers-and-hobbyists\/\">Arty development board<\/a>\u00a0blind. For this artistic interpretation, one individual was tasked with holding the <a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/arty-board-artix-7-fpga-development-board-for-makers-and-hobbyists\/\">Arty<\/a> while another attempted to draw the board without looking at their drawing. Just as it was in\u00a0childhood this challenge proved somewhat difficult, yet our <a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/arty-board-artix-7-fpga-development-board-for-makers-and-hobbyists\/\">Arty<\/a> still managed to become a valuable piece of abstract art that we will cherish forever. If you are looking for a way to express yourself during Embrace Your Geekness Day, we highly suggest trying this activity with friends. It removes prior artistic skill level and establishes an even playing field where anyone can create beautiful art!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Geeky Microcontroller Theme Song<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Looking for more Digilent inspired interpretive projects?
