{"id":13920,"date":"2016-05-18T10:00:22","date_gmt":"2016-05-18T17:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.digilentinc.com\/?p=13920"},"modified":"2021-06-16T14:13:19","modified_gmt":"2021-06-16T21:13:19","slug":"a-comparison-of-the-analog-discovery-and-analog-discovery-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/digilent.com\/blog\/a-comparison-of-the-analog-discovery-and-analog-discovery-2\/","title":{"rendered":"A Comparison of the Analog Discovery and Analog Discovery 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There have been a lot of questions regarding the differences between the <a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/analog-discovery-2-100msps-usb-oscilloscope-logic-analyzer-and-variable-power-supply\/\">Analog Discovery 2 <\/a>and the <a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/analog-discovery-100msps-usb-oscilloscope-logic-analyzer\/\">Analog Discovery<\/a>.<a href=\"http:\/\/forum.blog.digilentinc.com\"> Forum<\/a> user JohnBee brought to our attention a video created by Youtube user <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCuojpO4PmSsLCKddYqGS-iQ\">Nezbrun<\/a>, who\u00a0shot a video detailing the differences in performance between the <a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/analog-discovery-100msps-usb-oscilloscope-logic-analyzer\/\">Analog Discovery<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/analog-discovery-2-100msps-usb-oscilloscope-logic-analyzer-and-variable-power-supply\/\">Analog Discovery 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>First, he goes through comparing the packaging. He notes the old case was much smaller and more compact, which he liked. He also notes that we seem to have taken form over function. However, the sleeker and prettier <a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/analog-discovery-2-100msps-usb-oscilloscope-logic-analyzer-and-variable-power-supply\/\">Analog Discovery 2<\/a> is not just that, it&#8217;s also stronger and more durable. I personally have heard and experienced more than a few complaints of the black casing on the original\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/analog-discovery-100msps-usb-oscilloscope-logic-analyzer\/\">Analog Discovery<\/a> breaking apart and of the USB connector falling off. The <a href=\"https:\/\/digilent.com\/shop\/analog-discovery-2-100msps-usb-oscilloscope-logic-analyzer-and-variable-power-supply\/\">Analog Discovery 2 <\/a>is made of durable polycarbonate plastic and screwed together, so it should hold together much better.<\/p>\n<p>I guess not everyone has a tendency to break stuff like I do!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_13928\"
